Narrative:

Aircraft #1 and #2 checked on proceeding northbound. Aircraft #2 was on the left. Aircraft #1 was approximately 60 mi east of aircraft #2. WX was impacting the area and some planes were deviating. Aircraft #1 requested a left deviation for WX of approximately 35 mi. I approved the deviation and proceeded to call ZMA with some coordination. While on the landline, aircraft #1 said he actually needed to deviation about 60 mi east of course. I did not acknowledge because I did not hear the transmission. For a while, aircraft #1 was tracking about 20 degrees left of course. Aircraft #1 then proceeded to turn further northwest. Upon recognizing the tighter convergence, I issued a turn clearance to aircraft #2 and a descent clearance to aircraft #1 and requested an expeditious descent. I then proceeded to turn aircraft #1 20 degrees to the right for further separation. Separation was lost. Upon regaining separation, both aircraft were cleared on course. I was then told by my immediate supervisor as well as the area manager to advise aircraft #1 of a possible pilot deviation, not knowing that he had said he was going to deviation up to 60 mi as opposed to the 35 mi that I had heard and acknowledged.

Title: WHILE CONDUCTING INTERPHONE COORD, ZJX CTLR DOES NOT HEAR OR RESPOND TO WX DEV BY AN ACR WHICH CONFLICTS WITH ANOTHER ACR AT THE SAME ALT.

Narrative: ACFT #1 AND #2 CHKED ON PROCEEDING NBOUND. ACFT #2 WAS ON THE L. ACFT #1 WAS APPROX 60 MI E OF ACFT #2. WX WAS IMPACTING THE AREA AND SOME PLANES WERE DEVIATING. ACFT #1 REQUESTED A L DEV FOR WX OF APPROX 35 MI. I APPROVED THE DEV AND PROCEEDED TO CALL ZMA WITH SOME COORD. WHILE ON THE LANDLINE, ACFT #1 SAID HE ACTUALLY NEEDED TO DEV ABOUT 60 MI E OF COURSE. I DID NOT ACKNOWLEDGE BECAUSE I DID NOT HEAR THE XMISSION. FOR A WHILE, ACFT #1 WAS TRACKING ABOUT 20 DEGS L OF COURSE. ACFT #1 THEN PROCEEDED TO TURN FURTHER NW. UPON RECOGNIZING THE TIGHTER CONVERGENCE, I ISSUED A TURN CLRNC TO ACFT #2 AND A DSCNT CLRNC TO ACFT #1 AND REQUESTED AN EXPEDITIOUS DSCNT. I THEN PROCEEDED TO TURN ACFT #1 20 DEGS TO THE R FOR FURTHER SEPARATION. SEPARATION WAS LOST. UPON REGAINING SEPARATION, BOTH ACFT WERE CLRED ON COURSE. I WAS THEN TOLD BY MY IMMEDIATE SUPVR AS WELL AS THE AREA MGR TO ADVISE ACFT #1 OF A POSSIBLE PLTDEV, NOT KNOWING THAT HE HAD SAID HE WAS GOING TO DEV UP TO 60 MI AS OPPOSED TO THE 35 MI THAT I HAD HEARD AND ACKNOWLEDGED.
