Narrative:
Had 7 individual items concerning audio not working (items 63 through 67). Maintenance service would only issue 5 placards because 5 of tile seats (see items 63 and 64, 65 and 66) were connected together physically and according to maintenance service, mr X on duty also confirmed that this was a proper action when he spoke to my crew chief. I would like clarification on this procedure. Many of my fellow mechanics are under the impression that each maintenance action requires a separate and distinct answer even when placarding per the MEL.

Title: A B757 DURING A SVC CHK WAS FOUND TO HAVE 5 SEAT ASSEMBLIES A TOTAL OF 15 SEATS WITH AUDIO INOP. TECHNICIAN CONCERNED ABOUT NUMBER OF PLACARDS REQUIRED.
Narrative: HAD 7 INDIVIDUAL ITEMS CONCERNING AUDIO NOT WORKING (ITEMS 63 THROUGH 67). MAINT SVC WOULD ONLY ISSUE 5 PLACARDS BECAUSE 5 OF TILE SEATS (SEE ITEMS 63 AND 64, 65 AND 66) WERE CONNECTED TOGETHER PHYSICALLY AND ACCORDING TO MAINT SVC, MR X ON DUTY ALSO CONFIRMED THAT THIS WAS A PROPER ACTION WHEN HE SPOKE TO MY CREW CHIEF. I WOULD LIKE CLARIFICATION ON THIS PROC. MANY OF MY FELLOW MECHS ARE UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT EACH MAINT ACTION REQUIRES A SEPARATE AND DISTINCT ANSWER EVEN WHEN PLACARDING PER THE MEL.
