Narrative:
On descent into sfb, daytona approach informed us that there were storm cells building in our flight path. Our radar was painting only light rain showers ahead. The flight attendants were notified of possible turbulence ahead and we flew a vector west of the reported cells. Approximately 1 to 2 mins later we encountered an area of moderate turbulence with one severe jolt. This entire encounter lasted approximately 10 seconds. Our heading required daytona to hand us off to zax center and they in turn handed us to orl approach. The aircraft landed at sfb a short time later without further incident. No passenger reported any injuries. However, 1 flight attendant reported a bruised hand and buttocks. The flight attendant wished to continue the sequence. However, the captain and the company requested she seek medical att. Zax was informed of the incident (via a call to the traffic desk). A logbook entry was made and inspection performed on the aircraft with no abnormalities found.
