Narrative:

A magnetic light flashlight was found in the frame of the nose gear. It was flown by 4 other crews before I flew it. I missed it on preflight. The flashlight was found by the crew after us. The light was between the strut webbing. And it had broken some of the webbing out when the gear retracted. The aircraft had been flown numerous hours before the flashlight was found. As the first officer, I preflted the aircraft and was rushed to do the job. In doing so, I overlooked the nose gear well. This could have caused a gear failure and serious injury. From now on the nosewheel will be inspected more closely.
