Narrative:
While working autospoiler problem, installed autospoiler actuator. Actuator kept running while system was activated. Kept problem on maintenance carry-over. Collared proper circuit breaker and disconnected cannon plug from actuator as a precaution. Reported that autospoilers would not work manually because cannon plug was disconnected from actuator.

Title: MD88. 2 A&P MECHS CAME CLOSE TO FALSIFYING RECORDS WHEN RECORDING A DEFERRED ITEM IN THE MAINT RECORDS.
Narrative: WHILE WORKING AUTOSPOILER PROB, INSTALLED AUTOSPOILER ACTUATOR. ACTUATOR KEPT RUNNING WHILE SYS WAS ACTIVATED. KEPT PROB ON MAINT CARRY-OVER. COLLARED PROPER CIRCUIT BREAKER AND DISCONNECTED CANNON PLUG FROM ACTUATOR AS A PRECAUTION. RPTED THAT AUTOSPOILERS WOULD NOT WORK MANUALLY BECAUSE CANNON PLUG WAS DISCONNECTED FROM ACTUATOR.
