Narrative:
I flew air carrier Y from lax to ZZZ to dca on aug/sat/01. The aircraft had an MEL deferral on the left efi/symbol generator. The MEL required a maintenance verification and signoff (follow-up action required) once each flight day. I arrived in ZZZ at XA15Z. A mechanic looked at the logbook in ZZZ and stated that the follow-up action requiring logbook signoff was good for the next flight. I departed ZZZ, for dca at XB25Z. Upon arriving dca, I discovered that a flight day is based on zulu time. I believe that the aircraft should have had an additional verification/signoff prior to departing ZZZ. Thus far, I have not been able to get a definitive answer from our maintenance department. Additionally, I discovered in dca that the previous follow-up action requiring verification/signoff did not contain the mechanic's signature.

Title: B757 FLT CREW OPERATES THE ACFT WITH IMPROPER MAINT DOCUMENTATION WITH REGARD TO THE DAILY MAINT INSPECTION ENRTE TO DCA.
Narrative: I FLEW ACR Y FROM LAX TO ZZZ TO DCA ON AUG/SAT/01. THE ACFT HAD AN MEL DEFERRAL ON THE L EFI/SYMBOL GENERATOR. THE MEL REQUIRED A MAINT VERIFICATION AND SIGNOFF (FOLLOW-UP ACTION REQUIRED) ONCE EACH FLT DAY. I ARRIVED IN ZZZ AT XA15Z. A MECH LOOKED AT THE LOGBOOK IN ZZZ AND STATED THAT THE FOLLOW-UP ACTION REQUIRING LOGBOOK SIGNOFF WAS GOOD FOR THE NEXT FLT. I DEPARTED ZZZ, FOR DCA AT XB25Z. UPON ARRIVING DCA, I DISCOVERED THAT A FLT DAY IS BASED ON ZULU TIME. I BELIEVE THAT THE ACFT SHOULD HAVE HAD AN ADDITIONAL VERIFICATION/SIGNOFF PRIOR TO DEPARTING ZZZ. THUS FAR, I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET A DEFINITIVE ANSWER FROM OUR MAINT DEPT. ADDITIONALLY, I DISCOVERED IN DCA THAT THE PREVIOUS FOLLOW-UP ACTION REQUIRING VERIFICATION/SIGNOFF DID NOT CONTAIN THE MECH'S SIGNATURE.
