Narrative:
Jul/xa/01, la romawa airport ramp at dominican republic ground XA20 am, called for before start checklist, which we performed and we got a clear signal from ground crew to start #2 engine. We were using external power cart to start the engine. We started the #2 engine and the captain called for disconnect of gpu, and about 15-20 seconds later we had engine fire warning on at the #2 engine. We went through the memory items as per company flight manual and airport fire and crash trucks were called. The captain ordered passenger evacuate/evacuation, which was completed in a controled and expedited manner. We completed the remaining checklist items and afterwards secured the aircraft. Luckily we had a false fire warning and no one was hurt during the passenger evacuate/evacuation. What caused this false alarm, we do not know. After we had maintenance personnel working on this aircraft, and resetting the fire bottles and testing the system involved, we flew the airplane back to san juan later on that evening without any further problems.
