Narrative:

First officer was flying the leg from lax to sfo. On initial takeoff as the jet was accelerating, the stabilizer trim began to run away. The autoplt was off. We accomplished the memory item from qrc and executed the qrc checklist. After the stabilizer trim cutoff switches were activated the stabilizer trim movement ceased. We manually trimmed the jet for 250/280 KTS for the climb out and the airplane flew normally. The autoplt was never selected during the flight. We collaborated with maintenance and dispatch about our situation, and concluded that it was safe to continue to sfo. We landed uneventfully. We completed the logbook and declared a cabin advisory with the flight attendants just in case the situation presented itself again. The passenger were kept out of the loop.
