Narrative:

After stop and go taxi, flight attendant reported what she believed to be shifting cargo below her at door 4R. After face to face discussion, I determined it necessary to get out of departure line. Found mechanic on board. He listened from same position and heard nothing. Departure line was lengthy. We were at end again. Went to gate for check of cargo. No problems found. On subsequent taxi flight attendant agreed with mechanic that problem had been noisy brakes. We did earlier ask maintenance control about this noise and they had no suggestions. Perhaps maintenance control and flight attendant group should be briefed on this brake noise.
