Narrative:
Completed parking checklist and getting ready to leave airplane when so noticed #2 engine still running and so he shut it down. I believed fatigue was total factor in this not being accomplished before or during parking checklist. We had just completed a 10 hour leg. Contributing factors were several interruptions during the checklist.

Title: DC10 FLT CREW INADVERTENTLY FORGETS TO SECURE AN ENG AFTER PARKING ACFT AT THE GATE IN DTW.
Narrative: COMPLETED PARKING CHKLIST AND GETTING READY TO LEAVE AIRPLANE WHEN SO NOTICED #2 ENG STILL RUNNING AND SO HE SHUT IT DOWN. I BELIEVED FATIGUE WAS TOTAL FACTOR IN THIS NOT BEING ACCOMPLISHED BEFORE OR DURING PARKING CHKLIST. WE HAD JUST COMPLETED A 10 HR LEG. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS WERE SEVERAL INTERRUPTIONS DURING THE CHKLIST.
