Narrative:

On aug/sat/01, flight X was on about a 5 mi straight in visual approach for runway 24 at night when fok tower told us to report a 2 mi final. We forgot about the 2 mi report. Partly, due in fact, because we were doing our standard operating callouts. We landed without clearance. The tower made us aware after we touched down. Far as I could tell, we were the only aircraft in his control at the time of our landing. My thoughts and questions about this matter are as follows: it was night, we were lit up like a christmas tree on a 5 mi final, and it was clear. Why couldn't he issue a landing clearance when we checked in 5 mi out? Why didn't he see us (all lit up) on short final and issue us clearance? Why did he wait to inform us (while we were rolling out) that we had landed without clearance?

Title: CE560 FLT LANDS WITHOUT A CLRNC AT FOK.

Narrative: ON AUG/SAT/01, FLT X WAS ON ABOUT A 5 MI STRAIGHT IN VISUAL APCH FOR RWY 24 AT NIGHT WHEN FOK TWR TOLD US TO RPT A 2 MI FINAL. WE FORGOT ABOUT THE 2 MI RPT. PARTLY, DUE IN FACT, BECAUSE WE WERE DOING OUR STANDARD OPERATING CALLOUTS. WE LANDED WITHOUT CLRNC. THE TWR MADE US AWARE AFTER WE TOUCHED DOWN. FAR AS I COULD TELL, WE WERE THE ONLY ACFT IN HIS CTL AT THE TIME OF OUR LNDG. MY THOUGHTS AND QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS MATTER ARE AS FOLLOWS: IT WAS NIGHT, WE WERE LIT UP LIKE A CHRISTMAS TREE ON A 5 MI FINAL, AND IT WAS CLR. WHY COULDN'T HE ISSUE A LNDG CLRNC WHEN WE CHKED IN 5 MI OUT? WHY DIDN'T HE SEE US (ALL LIT UP) ON SHORT FINAL AND ISSUE US CLRNC? WHY DID HE WAIT TO INFORM US (WHILE WE WERE ROLLING OUT) THAT WE HAD LANDED WITHOUT CLRNC?
