Narrative:

Our boeing 757 experienced a flap overspd of 35 KTS with flap 1 degree selected. The aircraft was climbing through 10300 ft MSL when the crew noticed an aircraft buffet. The captain noticed that the flap selector was inadvertently left in the flaps 1 degree detent and immediately placed the flap selector in the up position. The flight continued to ord without further incidence. The flight departed runway 19R and sna via the noise abatement procedure. While flying the MUSEL6 departure the flight crew received several heading changes prior to reaching 10000 ft. The flight crew became distracted by the ATC instructions to turn left to 020 degree heading followed by a right turn to 080 degree heading. While also trying to maintain a vigilant traffic watch. The crew failed to retract the flaps to the up position in an effort to comply with ATC instructions. Supplemental information from acn 523741: I accelerated to economy speed. While passing 270 KTS I experienced a vibration in the yoke. I then placed power to idle and raised the nose to reduce speed. At the same time the captain retracted the flaps to up. We notified maintenance and made a logbook write-up. Due to numerous ATC request and a complex SID we were unable to xchk and verify each other's duties. Task saturation, causal.

Title: A B757-200 ON DEP FROM SNA EXPERIENCED FLAP OVERSPD BY 30 KTS DUE TO NUMEROUS ATC REQUESTS AND COMPLEX SID. FLAPS NOT RETRACTED TO FULL UP.

Narrative: OUR BOEING 757 EXPERIENCED A FLAP OVERSPD OF 35 KTS WITH FLAP 1 DEG SELECTED. THE ACFT WAS CLBING THROUGH 10300 FT MSL WHEN THE CREW NOTICED AN ACFT BUFFET. THE CAPT NOTICED THAT THE FLAP SELECTOR WAS INADVERTENTLY LEFT IN THE FLAPS 1 DEG DETENT AND IMMEDIATELY PLACED THE FLAP SELECTOR IN THE UP POS. THE FLT CONTINUED TO ORD WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENCE. THE FLT DEPARTED RWY 19R AND SNA VIA THE NOISE ABATEMENT PROC. WHILE FLYING THE MUSEL6 DEP THE FLC RECEIVED SEVERAL HEADING CHANGES PRIOR TO REACHING 10000 FT. THE FLC BECAME DISTRACTED BY THE ATC INSTRUCTIONS TO TURN L TO 020 DEG HDG FOLLOWED BY A R TURN TO 080 DEG HDG. WHILE ALSO TRYING TO MAINTAIN A VIGILANT TFC WATCH. THE CREW FAILED TO RETRACT THE FLAPS TO THE UP POS IN AN EFFORT TO COMPLY WITH ATC INSTRUCTIONS. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 523741: I ACCELERATED TO ECONOMY SPD. WHILE PASSING 270 KTS I EXPERIENCED A VIBRATION IN THE YOKE. I THEN PLACED PWR TO IDLE AND RAISED THE NOSE TO REDUCE SPD. AT THE SAME TIME THE CAPT RETRACTED THE FLAPS TO UP. WE NOTIFIED MAINT AND MADE A LOGBOOK WRITE-UP. DUE TO NUMEROUS ATC REQUEST AND A COMPLEX SID WE WERE UNABLE TO XCHK AND VERIFY EACH OTHER'S DUTIES. TASK SATURATION, CAUSAL.
