Narrative:
Aircraft cleared for the visual to runway 35C and told to contact tower at marker. All was quiet, and everything was routine. I was watching the parameters and a jet clearing downfield, and plain forgot to switch to tower. After landing, I realized the error and called the tower who instructed us to cross the parallel runway and contact ground. Fortunately there was no further incident. I obviously must place more emphasis on all procedures and be more alert when everything appears to be going perfect.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A B727 FLT CREW INADVERTENTLY LWOC AFTER FORGETTING TO CONTACT TWR.
Narrative: ACFT CLRED FOR THE VISUAL TO RWY 35C AND TOLD TO CONTACT TWR AT MARKER. ALL WAS QUIET, AND EVERYTHING WAS ROUTINE. I WAS WATCHING THE PARAMETERS AND A JET CLRING DOWNFIELD, AND PLAIN FORGOT TO SWITCH TO TWR. AFTER LNDG, I REALIZED THE ERROR AND CALLED THE TWR WHO INSTRUCTED US TO CROSS THE PARALLEL RWY AND CONTACT GND. FORTUNATELY THERE WAS NO FURTHER INCIDENT. I OBVIOUSLY MUST PLACE MORE EMPHASIS ON ALL PROCS AND BE MORE ALERT WHEN EVERYTHING APPEARS TO BE GOING PERFECT.
