Narrative:
On walkaround first officer found a rag on top of #4 main wheel and a puddle of hydraulic fluid on ground between main wheels #3 and #4. Nothing in logbook to indicate maintenance item. Mechanic said he changed brake pads on overnight and log entry was not needed. Is maintenance log entry required for overnight maintenance actions?

Title: A FLT CREW MEMBER DISCOVERS EVIDENCE OF MAINT BEING DONE IN THE LNDG GEAR AREA DURING HIS WALKAROUND INSPECTION, BUT NOTES NO DOCUMENTATION IN THE ACFT MAINT LOG.
Narrative: ON WALKAROUND FO FOUND A RAG ON TOP OF #4 MAIN WHEEL AND A PUDDLE OF HYD FLUID ON GND BTWN MAIN WHEELS #3 AND #4. NOTHING IN LOGBOOK TO INDICATE MAINT ITEM. MECH SAID HE CHANGED BRAKE PADS ON OVERNIGHT AND LOG ENTRY WAS NOT NEEDED. IS MAINT LOG ENTRY REQUIRED FOR OVERNIGHT MAINT ACTIONS?
