Narrative:
Cabin altitude indicated FL400. However, gate arrival doors would not open. With packs off, it took over 1 min to open the doors. Suspect pressure relief valve and automatic controller. While we tried to open the doors, the cabin climbed at 2000 FPM. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the cabin pressure system worked without problems all during the flight and failed when the aircraft was parked on the gate. The reporter said the cabin pressure controller on the overhead P-5 panel had failed.

Title: A B737-300 ON ARR AT GATE WERE UNABLE TO OPEN CABIN DOORS DUE TO CABIN PRESSURIZED. 1 MIN AFTER PACK SHUTDOWN DOOR COULD BE OPENED.
Narrative: CABIN ALT INDICATED FL400. HOWEVER, GATE ARR DOORS WOULD NOT OPEN. WITH PACKS OFF, IT TOOK OVER 1 MIN TO OPEN THE DOORS. SUSPECT PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE AND AUTOMATIC CONTROLLER. WHILE WE TRIED TO OPEN THE DOORS, THE CABIN CLBED AT 2000 FPM. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE CABIN PRESSURE SYS WORKED WITHOUT PROBS ALL DURING THE FLT AND FAILED WHEN THE ACFT WAS PARKED ON THE GATE. THE RPTR SAID THE CABIN PRESSURE CONTROLLER ON THE OVERHEAD P-5 PANEL HAD FAILED.
