Narrative:

Our initial flight las to XXX was canceled so we deadheaded to XXX to pick up our trip. We were given an aircraft out of maintenance. The APU still did not work and the air conditioner on our gate didn't either. They moved our plane to a different gate and we finally departed 35 mins late. After takeoff the #1 engine pmc failed and we spent most of the flight troubleshooting checklists for it. Then upon arrival into stl it was MEL'ed. Due to the extreme heat, the late departure due to gate shuffling and the failed pmc en route we consequently overlooked the engine monitoring. On top of these items I believe the fact we received the plane late in the day on a pm trip lent itself to the oversight.
