Narrative:
I called ZFW to get control for descent on an aircraft that was outside my airspace. The controller at the sector gave me control of it. I descended my aircraft. ZFW calls and asks what is going on with that aircraft. I told him I coordinated it with their sector. Apparently, their ultra-hi sector split off and I was not informed and the low sector gave me control of an aircraft which was not in their airspace.

Narrative: I CALLED ZFW TO GET CTL FOR DSCNT ON AN ACFT THAT WAS OUTSIDE MY AIRSPACE. THE CTLR AT THE SECTOR GAVE ME CTL OF IT. I DSNDED MY ACFT. ZFW CALLS AND ASKS WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THAT ACFT. I TOLD HIM I COORDINATED IT WITH THEIR SECTOR. APPARENTLY, THEIR ULTRA-HI SECTOR SPLIT OFF AND I WAS NOT INFORMED AND THE LOW SECTOR GAVE ME CTL OF AN ACFT WHICH WAS NOT IN THEIR AIRSPACE.
