Narrative:

Arriving at the airport, noted another aircraft flying and assumed the national VFR flight restr had been lifted. Took my aircraft on a 20 min local flight. Learned later, the restr had not been lifted. Will call FSS next time I have questions regarding flight. An official notification by the FAA of this restr could also have prevented this incident.

Title: AN SMA PLT TOOK A LOCAL 20 MIN VFR FLT IN THE VICINITY OF KEFT WI.

Narrative: ARRIVING AT THE ARPT, NOTED ANOTHER ACFT FLYING AND ASSUMED THE NATIONAL VFR FLT RESTR HAD BEEN LIFTED. TOOK MY ACFT ON A 20 MIN LOCAL FLT. LEARNED LATER, THE RESTR HAD NOT BEEN LIFTED. WILL CALL FSS NEXT TIME I HAVE QUESTIONS REGARDING FLT. AN OFFICIAL NOTIFICATION BY THE FAA OF THIS RESTR COULD ALSO HAVE PREVENTED THIS INCIDENT.
