Panels from aircraft Y are part number XXXX similar in appearance to panel part number YYYY in aircraft Z. Operational test of both panel the same in aircraft make model. I did not double check part numbers and after operational check dispatched aircraft. Upon arrival of replacement part for aircraft X a check of computer records showed part incorrect obtained proper panel for aircraft X and notified maintenance control foreman of my error and to stop aircraft at XXX to remove wrong panel YYYY from aircraft Y and install correct panel XXXX.
