Narrative:

ZDC issued 305 degree radial ric at 10000 ft 250 KTS. Captain got behind briefing the approach. About 31 mi and 13000 ft, we were handed off to ric approach and was issued 6000 ft. By this time, captain was trying so hard to get down, 340 KTS open descent, we went through 10000 ft at over 300 KTS. On the approach he was still behind. We were way too high so we overshot the runway 34 and still had to do a 360 degree turn to get down. I am not sure what he was trying to turn off but be turned off the autothrust and the autoplt. While trying to get the autothrust back on we started a climb which the tower asked us about. We landed without further problems. It's hard to help someone who does not want it, so I get to write NASA forms. I tried all I know, 'we are 10 mi out 6000 ft high and 90 KTS too fast.' you are 8 mi from the FAF and 4000 ft high. I don't know what else to say.

Narrative: ZDC ISSUED 305 DEG RADIAL RIC AT 10000 FT 250 KTS. CAPT GOT BEHIND BRIEFING THE APCH. ABOUT 31 MI AND 13000 FT, WE WERE HANDED OFF TO RIC APCH AND WAS ISSUED 6000 FT. BY THIS TIME, CAPT WAS TRYING SO HARD TO GET DOWN, 340 KTS OPEN DSCNT, WE WENT THROUGH 10000 FT AT OVER 300 KTS. ON THE APCH HE WAS STILL BEHIND. WHILE TRYING TO GET THE AUTOTHRUST BACK ON WE STARTED A CLB WHICH THE TWR ASKED US ABOUT. WE LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER PROBS. IT'S HARD TO HELP SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT WANT IT, SO I GET TO WRITE NASA FORMS. I TRIED ALL I KNOW, 'WE ARE 10 MI OUT 6000 FT HIGH AND 90 KTS TOO FAST.' YOU ARE 8 MI FROM THE FAF AND 4000 FT HIGH.
