Narrative:
We were returning in the afternoon and cmh was landing on the 10's. When we checked in with approach they asked us to remain east of stadium. We responded that we would. To make a long story short this was the first revenue flight that I had operated in close to 3 months. So, I know my skills in situation awareness were a little rusty. Both of us knew which way east was, however we interpreted it to stay west of the stadium and turn our final there. It had slipped both our minds that there was a no fly zone over stadiums games since sep/tue/01. That being said we inadvertently entered the no fly zone. Approach queried us and told us that we must have misunderstood his directions. After we landed we checked our release, and there were no NOTAMS in it suggesting the no fly zone. I know there is no excuse for something like this and accept responsibility for it. I just feel there could have been better communication with us and approach. Something like 'do not over fly stadium' or 'temporary flight restr around stadium, remain clear.' things like that may help us shake the rust a little faster.

Title: A CLRNC TO STAY EA OF A STADIUM IS MISINTERPRETED AND A NO FLY ZONE WAS ENTERED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH CURRENT SECURITY DIRECTIVES.
Narrative: WE WERE RETURNING IN THE AFTERNOON AND CMH WAS LNDG ON THE 10'S. WHEN WE CHKED IN WITH APCH THEY ASKED US TO REMAIN E OF STADIUM. WE RESPONDED THAT WE WOULD. TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT THIS WAS THE FIRST REVENUE FLT THAT I HAD OPERATED IN CLOSE TO 3 MONTHS. SO, I KNOW MY SKILLS IN SIT AWARENESS WERE A LITTLE RUSTY. BOTH OF US KNEW WHICH WAY E WAS, HOWEVER WE INTERPRETED IT TO STAY W OF THE STADIUM AND TURN OUR FINAL THERE. IT HAD SLIPPED BOTH OUR MINDS THAT THERE WAS A NO FLY ZONE OVER STADIUMS GAMES SINCE SEP/TUE/01. THAT BEING SAID WE INADVERTENTLY ENTERED THE NO FLY ZONE. APCH QUERIED US AND TOLD US THAT WE MUST HAVE MISUNDERSTOOD HIS DIRECTIONS. AFTER WE LANDED WE CHKED OUR RELEASE, AND THERE WERE NO NOTAMS IN IT SUGGESTING THE NO FLY ZONE. I KNOW THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS AND ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT. I JUST FEEL THERE COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER COM WITH US AND APCH. SOMETHING LIKE 'DO NOT OVER FLY STADIUM' OR 'TEMPORARY FLT RESTR AROUND STADIUM, REMAIN CLR.' THINGS LIKE THAT MAY HELP US SHAKE THE RUST A LITTLE FASTER.
