Narrative:

Aborted takeoff due to aural warning indicating automatic feather not armed. This experience was illustrative of a small series of mistakes leading to a larger one. First mistake was allowing myself to be distracted during 'taxi check' flow. Second mistake was not visually confirming switch position during reading of checklist. Third mistake was responding to ATC query 'XXXX, are you ready' in the affirmative prior to checklist completion. As a result the rush cost us time.
