Narrative:

In extremely rough air, while being directed to turn, descend, and reduce airspeed from 250 KTS to 190 KTS, I deviation 300 ft from my assigned descent altitude of 7000 ft MSL. An immediate correction was made and time below 7000 ft was a matter of seconds. No known conflict occurred and no comment made by approach control. I was clearing visually. Cross checking inside on a more frequent basis will prevent a future occurrence.
