Narrative:

About 20-25 mins out of dfw, we advised ZFW we had a medical emergency (passenger having seizure and in and out of consciousness) and wanted to be considered a lifeguard flight and increase our speed. ATC cleared us direct dfw. Approaching 10000 ft on the descent, ATC said we could disregard the 250 KT restr and go as fast as we wanted. I got to thinking later that restr is not really ATC's to waive. We had declared a medical emergency, which probably covers us, but I need to be careful about accepting ATC's offers to waive regulations. Passenger removed by paramedics in semi conscious state, and taken to hospital.

Narrative: ABOUT 20-25 MINS OUT OF DFW, WE ADVISED ZFW WE HAD A MEDICAL EMER (PAX HAVING SEIZURE AND IN AND OUT OF CONSCIOUSNESS) AND WANTED TO BE CONSIDERED A LIFEGUARD FLT AND INCREASE OUR SPD. ATC CLRED US DIRECT DFW. APCHING 10000 FT ON THE DSCNT, ATC SAID WE COULD DISREGARD THE 250 KT RESTR AND GO AS FAST AS WE WANTED. I GOT TO THINKING LATER THAT RESTR IS NOT REALLY ATC'S TO WAIVE. WE HAD DECLARED A MEDICAL EMER, WHICH PROBABLY COVERS US, BUT I NEED TO BE CAREFUL ABOUT ACCEPTING ATC'S OFFERS TO WAIVE REGS.
