Narrative:

During climb out from clw, I was climbing from 8000-10000 ft MSL to get on top of the WX, while in the climb I became disoriented and lost heading control and altitude control. I believe I had a case of the leans after the initial loss of control, which made it harder to recover. The event occurred while IMC and the aircraft was probably stalled. I recovered the aircraft while still IMC with a loss of altitude at approximately 500 ft and loss of heading control of +/-60 degrees.

Title: AN ATP RATED PLT LOSES SPATIAL ORIENTATION IN IMC RESULTING IN MOMENTARY LOSS OF ACFT CTL INCLUDING A STALL, LOSS OF ALT AND HDG CTL.

Narrative: DURING CLBOUT FROM CLW, I WAS CLBING FROM 8000-10000 FT MSL TO GET ON TOP OF THE WX, WHILE IN THE CLB I BECAME DISORIENTED AND LOST HDG CTL AND ALT CTL. I BELIEVE I HAD A CASE OF THE LEANS AFTER THE INITIAL LOSS OF CTL, WHICH MADE IT HARDER TO RECOVER. THE EVENT OCCURRED WHILE IMC AND THE ACFT WAS PROBABLY STALLED. I RECOVERED THE ACFT WHILE STILL IMC WITH A LOSS OF ALT AT APPROX 500 FT AND LOSS OF HDG CTL OF +/-60 DEGS.
