Narrative:
Aircraft X on oct/mon/01. #1 engine experience an overtemp condition. I contacted maintenance control. They faxed the maintenance manual reference. I inspected the engine per 72-00-00-6. However, believing that the situation fell under X conditions, the power assurance test was missed. Another contributing factor: the maintenance manual figure 611 sheets 1 and 2 were hard to read. (See attached sheets) this oversight was unintentional and non malicious.

Title: A B737-300 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH #1 ENG EXHAUST GAS TEMP LIMIT EXCEEDENCE CHK NOT COMPLETED.
Narrative: ACFT X ON OCT/MON/01. #1 ENG EXPERIENCE AN OVERTEMP CONDITION. I CONTACTED MAINT CTL. THEY FAXED THE MAINT MANUAL REF. I INSPECTED THE ENG PER 72-00-00-6. HOWEVER, BELIEVING THAT THE SIT FELL UNDER X CONDITIONS, THE PWR ASSURANCE TEST WAS MISSED. ANOTHER CONTRIBUTING FACTOR: THE MAINT MANUAL FIGURE 611 SHEETS 1 AND 2 WERE HARD TO READ.
