Narrative:
I am very familiar to the location of ZZZ1. Frequently my flight path has taken me over ZZZ1 and I have always contacted them for advice in crossing the MOA. Of importance is the NOTAM that indicated an unlighted tower 9.7 mi southwest of 'city name.' I have noted both the AGL and the MSL altitudes and I specifically asked the briefer for a clarification as to whether the tower was southwest of the city or the airport and he replied airport. He made no mention of the MOA having been changed to a temporary restr area due to the 09/tue/01 event. Shortly after taking off from ZZZ2 attempted to contact flight following as is my custom for safety sake. I tried frequencys for ZZZ3 approach, ZZZ center, ZZZ approach and departure, and did not have a response to my calls. I therefore continued a direct route flight that would have taken me over the east side of the base. I own a GPS and was using it for navigation. Just as I was about to pass over interstate xx a warning came up on the GPS screen that I wa approaching an airspace. Knowing where I was, I immediately contacted the tower at ZZZ1. The controller stated that I had entered restr airspace and vectored me east and the south of the field and then passed me back to an on course heading. The controller took down all pertinent information. I do not believe I entered what was a 10 mi restr, which I believe was the distance of the restr. The GPS never indicated that I was entering the airspace just approaching it, and when I returned the same evening, I stayed well to the west of the area. Just west of the MOA showing on the GPS indicated a distance of 18 statute miles. I then measured the distance from the interstate xx to the field and it seemed to be greater than 15 statute mi. If the briefer told me about the unlighted tower in the ZZZ3 area, I certainly think he could have advised me of the change of status of ZZZ1.

Title: GA PLT CONCERNED WITH INCOMPLETE FSS BRIEFING THAT EVENTFULLY RESULTS IN RESTR AIRSPACE INCURSION.
Narrative: I AM VERY FAMILIAR TO THE LOCATION OF ZZZ1. FREQUENTLY MY FLT PATH HAS TAKEN ME OVER ZZZ1 AND I HAVE ALWAYS CONTACTED THEM FOR ADVICE IN XING THE MOA. OF IMPORTANCE IS THE NOTAM THAT INDICATED AN UNLIGHTED TWR 9.7 MI SW OF 'CITY NAME.' I HAVE NOTED BOTH THE AGL AND THE MSL ALTITUDES AND I SPECIFICALLY ASKED THE BRIEFER FOR A CLARIFICATION AS TO WHETHER THE TWR WAS SW OF THE CITY OR THE ARPT AND HE REPLIED ARPT. HE MADE NO MENTION OF THE MOA HAVING BEEN CHANGED TO A TEMPORARY RESTR AREA DUE TO THE 09/TUE/01 EVENT. SHORTLY AFTER TAKING OFF FROM ZZZ2 ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT FLT FOLLOWING AS IS MY CUSTOM FOR SAFETY SAKE. I TRIED FREQS FOR ZZZ3 APCH, ZZZ CTR, ZZZ APCH AND DEP, AND DID NOT HAVE A RESPONSE TO MY CALLS. I THEREFORE CONTINUED A DIRECT RTE FLT THAT WOULD HAVE TAKEN ME OVER THE E SIDE OF THE BASE. I OWN A GPS AND WAS USING IT FOR NAVIGATION. JUST AS I WAS ABOUT TO PASS OVER INTERSTATE XX A WARNING CAME UP ON THE GPS SCREEN THAT I WA APCHING AN AIRSPACE. KNOWING WHERE I WAS, I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE TWR AT ZZZ1. THE CTLR STATED THAT I HAD ENTERED RESTR AIRSPACE AND VECTORED ME E AND THE S OF THE FIELD AND THEN PASSED ME BACK TO AN ON COURSE HEADING. THE CTLR TOOK DOWN ALL PERTINENT INFO. I DO NOT BELIEVE I ENTERED WHAT WAS A 10 MI RESTR, WHICH I BELIEVE WAS THE DISTANCE OF THE RESTR. THE GPS NEVER INDICATED THAT I WAS ENTERING THE AIRSPACE JUST APCHING IT, AND WHEN I RETURNED THE SAME EVENING, I STAYED WELL TO THE W OF THE AREA. JUST W OF THE MOA SHOWING ON THE GPS INDICATED A DISTANCE OF 18 STATUTE MILES. I THEN MEASURED THE DISTANCE FROM THE INTERSTATE XX TO THE FIELD AND IT SEEMED TO BE GREATER THAN 15 STATUTE MI. IF THE BRIEFER TOLD ME ABOUT THE UNLIGHTED TWR IN THE ZZZ3 AREA, I CERTAINLY THINK HE COULD HAVE ADVISED ME OF THE CHANGE OF STATUS OF ZZZ1.
