Narrative:
Immediately after takeoff we smelled smoke, like an electric heater being turned on. It was strongest back by the tail-cone exit door. I checked the lavatories and you could not smell it in them. No smoke was visible. The #2 flight attendant (sitting in the jump seat on the tail-cone exit door) called the captain, explained the situation. We immediately returned to land. The aircraft was inspected outside and once back at the gate 2 firemen came on and inspected the plane. One said he smelled some smoke smell still. At least 2 passenger, one in first class and one near the window exits had smelled smoke also. We got another plane and continued on our trip.
