Narrative:
Mia taxiway V and runway 12. After pushback from gate at mia, we taxied to spot X and contacted mia ground control for taxi instructions. They told us to taxi to runway 12 with no other taxi guidance. I elected to use taxiway V to taxiway Q to runway 12. While I was taxiing, my first officer was reselecting the new departure runway in the FMS and was heads down during this problem. I was temporarily distraction while he computed the new data for runway 12. At that time, I missed the turn onto taxiway Q and stopped across the hold short line for runway 12. Mia ground then told us to continue across runway 12 and to taxi to runway 9R at mia. We taxied to runway 9R and departed for sju without further incident.
