Narrative:
During cruise flight we diverted to ZZZ due to a passenger having a cardiac arrest. After making the emergency landing, we were informed by the flight attendants, that they had broken the seal on the emergency medical kit, or had used the portable oxygen bottle. Unknowing to these facts, we proceeded to fly 2 more legs to our overnight destination. Had we been informed, we would never have departed ZZZ and would have complied with maintenance and MEL procedures.
