Narrative:
While performing removal of the flight compartment fan, I erred in doing step xyz. The blanking plates were installed on the wrong distribution ducts. The ones mentioned in step xyz were left open and caused a loss of cooling air to the flight compartment. The wrongfully placed blanking plates were removed by another mechanic prior to release. A more descriptive text or an illustration along with the work card would prevent it from happening again. I am helping revise the work card to correct the problem.
