Narrative:
During climb from FL235 to FL240, an aileron mistrim indication began. Upon reaching FL240, an autoplt right wing down message began. Captain performed QRH procedure of having me disconnect autoplt and retrim. Upon disengagement of autoplt, found ailerons bound and immovable. Trimmed ailerons very little, re-engaged autoplt, received 'autoplt left wing down.' I requested captain to assess aileron control responses and he agreed problem could be of serious nature. Positive xfer of controls returned to me. Captain contacted maintenance control through radio while I monitored problem which began to improve with decreasing frequency of autoplt messages, after approximately 2 mins with no messages. The captain agreed to me testing system and I found improved control response. Aileron control was regained with normal approach and landing at ZZZ, us. Maintenance performed by company. Following evening, captain and I performed maintenance flight returning this aircraft to ZZZ1 maintenance base with no problems.

CAPT CONTACTED MAINT CTL THROUGH RADIO WHILE I MONITORED PROB WHICH BEGAN TO IMPROVE WITH DECREASING FREQ OF AUTOPLT MESSAGES, AFTER APPROX 2 MINS WITH NO MESSAGES. THE CAPT AGREED TO ME TESTING SYS AND I FOUND IMPROVED CTL RESPONSE. AILERON CTL WAS REGAINED WITH NORMAL APCH AND LNDG AT ZZZ, US. MAINT PERFORMED BY COMPANY. FOLLOWING EVENING, CAPT AND I PERFORMED MAINT FLT RETURNING THIS ACFT TO ZZZ1 MAINT BASE WITH NO PROBS.
