Narrative:
Severe engine vibration at rotation. Psm tower advised they saw sparks from the right side of aircraft. Declared an emergency, climbed to 1500 ft AGL, accomplished emergency checklists, shut down #3 engine and returned to psm and landed. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the low pressure turbine failed and the engine was replaced.

Title: A B727-200 ON TKOF AT ROTATION DECLARED AN EMER AND DIVERTED DUE TO SEVERE VIBRATION FROM #3 ENG CAUSED BY LOW PRESSURE TURBINE FAILURE.
Narrative: SEVERE ENG VIBRATION AT ROTATION. PSM TWR ADVISED THEY SAW SPARKS FROM THE R SIDE OF ACFT. DECLARED AN EMER, CLBED TO 1500 FT AGL, ACCOMPLISHED EMER CHKLISTS, SHUT DOWN #3 ENG AND RETURNED TO PSM AND LANDED. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE LOW PRESSURE TURBINE FAILED AND THE ENG WAS REPLACED.
