Narrative:
Descent from FL190 to 11000 ft over camrn. Set altimeter to 29.74 instead of 29.47, as assigned. This resulted in a leveloff at 10800 ft instead of 11000 ft. ATC queried and we corrected the altimeter, climbing to 11000 ft.

Title: A B767 CREW, ON DSCNT INTO JFK, OVERSHOT THEIR ASSIGNED ALT DUE TO A WRONG ALTIMETER SETTING.
Narrative: DSCNT FROM FL190 TO 11000 FT OVER CAMRN. SET ALTIMETER TO 29.74 INSTEAD OF 29.47, AS ASSIGNED. THIS RESULTED IN A LEVELOFF AT 10800 FT INSTEAD OF 11000 FT. ATC QUERIED AND WE CORRECTED THE ALTIMETER, CLBING TO 11000 FT.
