Narrative:

Immediately after takeoff, I heard a loud churning noise which seemed to be exclusive to aircraft left in the wing area (aft of wing). It sounded like a loud motor or fan. I asked flight attendant #4 to come to that area to verify sound and he heard it too. I then called cockpit from mid-galley interphone and they stated that it could be indicative of the flap problem which was indicated to them by a warning light. We returned to dfw without incident and our captain did not want the in-flight crew to prepare for an emergency landing. A part was replaced by mechanics when we returned to dfw. We then departed dfw again at XC25 without incident.
