Narrative:

We were waiting for 1 more passenger to complete added security at gate in jfk. After 20 mins I went out to gate to find out what was holding us up. I encountered passenger X ready to enter jet bridge. She had 6 carry-on items. I informed her that was too many. In order not to have any more delays, she boarded. I was putting some items away and agent was attempting to check 1 of 2 items. This is when passenger started yelling. Things went downhill from there. Passenger X struck captain twice with her fist and slapped first officer across face twice. Port authority/authorized police were called. Passenger did not appear intoxicated, possibly a reaction to medication.
