Narrative:
Turned onto wrong taxi route while taxiing for departure to runway 26L at lgw (london gatwick - egkk). Clearance was from gate via taxiway left, taxiway P, hold short of taxiway J. I accidentally turned off taxiway left early, through hardstand onto taxiway north. Hardstand ws vacant and ground notified us we'd turned early, but there was no problem. We received further clearance and proceeded. Signage is in place, but it's very confusing in this area because it's basically all concrete and txwys. There were no distrs or conflicts.

Narrative: TURNED ONTO WRONG TAXI RTE WHILE TAXIING FOR DEP TO RWY 26L AT LGW (LONDON GATWICK - EGKK). CLRNC WAS FROM GATE VIA TXWY L, TXWY P, HOLD SHORT OF TXWY J.
