Narrative:
On departure out of lgb, while climbing to 7000 ft, out of 4000 ft, we were issued a TA -- unconfirmed altitude. We picked up the traffic visually at 11 O'clock position -- appeared to be 2 aircraft in a dogfight scenario. We then got the 'traffic, traffic' TA and then the lead aircraft broke off in a split 'south' toward us, at which point we received and complied with the RA, resulting in a right descending bank to avoid the traffic. We then proceeded on up to 7000 ft after advising ATC of our RA.
