Narrative:
Passenger in coach cabin exhibited strange behavior, switching seats during boarding, spending extended time in aft lav with a large carry-on bag and commented to passenger that he put a bomb in lav. The aircraft should have been secured for all on board and as a flight attendant, it should not have been questionable as to whether or not bomb dogs should be brought on board. This was only done after aircraft door re opened and authorities asked to speak with captain. Captain did not want to alarm passenger, but we were not at ease and confident of security of aircraft. Dog should have been procedure. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: callback revealed that the passenger was removed by law enforcement personnel, the cabin door was closed and the captain inspected the lav finding it safe. Cabin attendants requested that dogs be brought on to go over the aircraft. When the cabin door was opened again for security to confer with the captain the attendants insisted that they would not fly until the aircraft was searched by dogs. It was.
