Narrative:
On 03/sat/02 I was assigned the aircraft. This aircraft assigned at approximately XG00 at gate X and then taxied to the hangar. The aircraft was then brought back to the gate for overnight maintenance. The supervisor made an entry in the non routine to check for ice, and I did so at approximately XC30 am with no ice noted. It must also be noted, that wind gusts that night were unusually high because MD80 engines do not normally windmill, which happened to be the case on this night. So I did not notice the tear in the lines of the damaged blades.
