Narrative:
During a repair of lightning damage on aircraft, a static port needed to be replaced because it was suspected to be damaged by lightning. Subsequent inspection showed port to be ok and was reinstalled. Measuring of installed port failed to meet requirements of repair procedure. As listed in mmov 34-11-03 page 404 item D 8-11 and srm 51-10-03 item 2 items I and J, port required to be shaved. We carried forward item referencing the listed mmov's and srm's to be shaved and smoothed accordingly. We reinstalled the plugs in their original holes. The crew who had removed them tagged them accordingly, but the turnover and paperwork did not reflect that the originals were reinstalled. There had been a write-up on swapping the ports but it might not have been updated. I was the lead and did the carry forward paperwork only.
