Narrative:
Our flight was on radar vectors on a heading of 360 degrees at 5000 ft MSL approximately 50 DME on the 043 degree radial off of omn. Orl approach called traffic 5 mi, 12 O'clock position, 500 ft below, heading south and instructed us to contact the next controller. As soon as we switched, the VFR traffic began to climb as TCASII indicated. I repeatedly tried to contact the next controller with no reply. At this time, we made a right turn to avoid traffic. The traffic passed off our left wing approximately 100 ft below. Comments: I believe orlando center handed us off too soon (with traffic so close). Corrective action could have been made in conjunction with ATC to avoid any further conflicts (which none did happen).

Title: NMAC BTWN AN IFR BEECH 1900 AND A GLIDER APPROX 50 MI NE OF ORL AT 500 FT. THE BEECH TURNED TO AVOID CONFLICT.
Narrative: OUR FLT WAS ON RADAR VECTORS ON A HDG OF 360 DEGS AT 5000 FT MSL APPROX 50 DME ON THE 043 DEG RADIAL OFF OF OMN. ORL APCH CALLED TFC 5 MI, 12 O'CLOCK POS, 500 FT BELOW, HDG S AND INSTRUCTED US TO CONTACT THE NEXT CTLR. AS SOON AS WE SWITCHED, THE VFR TFC BEGAN TO CLB AS TCASII INDICATED. I REPEATEDLY TRIED TO CONTACT THE NEXT CTLR WITH NO REPLY. AT THIS TIME, WE MADE A R TURN TO AVOID TFC. THE TFC PASSED OFF OUR L WING APPROX 100 FT BELOW. COMMENTS: I BELIEVE ORLANDO CTR HANDED US OFF TOO SOON (WITH TFC SO CLOSE). CORRECTIVE ACTION COULD HAVE BEEN MADE IN CONJUNCTION WITH ATC TO AVOID ANY FURTHER CONFLICTS (WHICH NONE DID HAPPEN).
