Departed runway 17L at apa. Given right turn to 8000 ft, heading 4300 degrees. In the turn, climbing through 7700 ft MSL, saw high wing single engine (C172?) converging, heading northbound. Rolled right, closed throttles, dropped nose to avoid. Reported to denver departure. No TA received. No TA from centennial tower before handoff to center. Reported incident to departure controller.
