Narrative:
Upon receiving the clearance from tower I was 'aircraft X cleared for takeoff, left turnout approved,' I began my takeoff rollout with the readback 'aircraft X cleared for takeoff and traffic in front of me in sight' a warrior took off in front of me. He was to stay in the left traffic pattern. I took of and began my left turnout as directed. The warrior was in left downwind and I crossed above and in front of him. We both had lookout traffic calls by the tower and I had the warrior in sight the entire time. The warrior commented that we were 'too close.' no other problems the rest of the flight.
