Narrative:

I was flying the shoreline to transition class B airspace in the low level offshore transition as a banner tow demonstration to another pilot. I have made this transition numerous times towing a banner, but did not have one on this occasion. My original plan was to utilize the VFR corridor, but a more realistic transition to demonstrate was the one I flew. I was summoned to call the los angeles tower supervisor after landing at destination. I did so and explained that it was a demonstration flight to another pilot. There were no traffic delays or conflicts. I apologized about the inconvenience and stated I would only utilize the banner transition when I actually had a banner in tow.
