Narrative:
Medical emergency on aircraft and missed strohs crossing restr. Passenger got sick. Flight attendant gave oxygen from 'pob' to him. I notified 'socc' immediately. I had the first officer fly and take care of ATC while I dealt with the medical situation. A medical doctor and 2 emergency room rn's volunteered to help with the passenger. I had the flight attendant get all the information she could so I could pass it on to contract medical. I also had the heart paddles standing by in case the doctor needed them. We were ready to divert into pns, mob, or msy if need be. The doctor and nurses felt it was ok to press on to iah. The contract doctor also said it wasn't necessary to divert at this time and to continue onto iah. Dispatcher said he would have emt's and paramedics standing by in iah. Passenger's vitals were stable and normal. During all of the communication going on, I heard ZHU tell other aircraft that they had an inbound medical emergency. So I assumed they were aware of our situation. We landed uneventfully and taxied to the gate. Emergency personnel were there waiting for us. We used 3 pob's, medical kit and blood pressure kit. Wrote up in logbook.
