Narrative:

We were cleared from the gate to taxi, to runway 23. All checklists were completed and we began to taxi to the active, using taxiway a. As we approached taxiway H, taxiway Q, we switched to tower frequency and proceeded to runway 23 via taxiway H, taxiway Q. Approaching taxiway a, I told the captain to hold short at taxiway Q. He said it wasn't a hold short line and continued to taxi. We crossed the hold short line by about 30 ft and tower came on and said to hold. We stopped immediately -- there was an air carrier X flight on a 2 mi final. Tower queried the aircraft and they continued and landed. We were then given clearance to taxi into position and hold on runway 23. Then cleared for takeoff. Tower said taxiway Q is used as a back-taxi and that this has caused problems for them before.
