Narrative:
Flew a G1159 from dal to vrb to maintenance. After parking at maintenance, control tower supervisor approached our aircraft. He said that he saw something on the top of the horizontal stabilizer that 'did not belong there.' obtained a 'cherry picker' from the airport authority/authorized so that I could examine the top of the horizontal stabilizer. Found an o-ring still fastened to the top of the horizontal stabilizer. This is used to install/remove the horizontal stabilizer from the aircraft. O-ring was removed and flight continued. Notified maintenance of their failure to remove o-ring. This area is not visible on a normal preflight.
