Narrative:
Right engine oil pressure light flickered on and off, associated with erratic engine oil pressure and zero oil quantity. Emergency declared, and divert to mci was accomplished with dispatch concurrence. Oil pressure continued to decrease until red band (70-74 psi). In-flight engine shutdown accomplished and single engine approach/landing accomplished to runway 19L mci. Emergency equipment met plane and escorted to gate. Overweight landing (206.0 pounds) was performed in clear skies, 92 degrees F temperature and winds 190 degrees at 16 KTS gusting to 22 KTS. Maintenance found oil line had come completely loose in right engine and 'not a drop of oil' could be found in right engine sump/reservoir.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A B757-200 IN CRUISE AT FL350 DECLARED AN EMER AND DIVERTED DUE TO R ENG LOSS OF OIL PRESSURE AND QUANTITY. CAUSED BY LOOSE OIL LINE.
Narrative: R ENG OIL PRESSURE LIGHT FLICKERED ON AND OFF, ASSOCIATED WITH ERRATIC ENG OIL PRESSURE AND ZERO OIL QUANTITY. EMER DECLARED, AND DIVERT TO MCI WAS ACCOMPLISHED WITH DISPATCH CONCURRENCE. OIL PRESSURE CONTINUED TO DECREASE UNTIL RED BAND (70-74 PSI). INFLT ENG SHUTDOWN ACCOMPLISHED AND SINGLE ENG APCH/LNDG ACCOMPLISHED TO RWY 19L MCI. EMER EQUIP MET PLANE AND ESCORTED TO GATE. OVERWT LNDG (206.0 LBS) WAS PERFORMED IN CLR SKIES, 92 DEGS F TEMP AND WINDS 190 DEGS AT 16 KTS GUSTING TO 22 KTS. MAINT FOUND OIL LINE HAD COME COMPLETELY LOOSE IN R ENG AND 'NOT A DROP OF OIL' COULD BE FOUND IN R ENG SUMP/RESERVOIR.
