Narrative:
Location: 15 mi northeast clovis VOR approach. Descending through 9000 ft for 5000 ft, approach control issued a turn to 140 degree heading. Shortly thereafter, TCASII issued a TA, quickly followed by a climb RA. First officer maneuvered the aircraft to follow climb advisory. Visually acquired target at 10 O'clock position below our altitude. ATC issued 'TA' followed by a command to descend. I advised approach in a climb in response to a TCASII RA. Approach responded 'your discretion.'
